The Golden Tennis Racquet

On Wednesday morning, Arthur Ashe Charter scholars in grades kindergarten through 3rd, gathered in the school's gymnasium to find out who would be awarded the coveted golden tennis racquet. The golden tennis racquet is awarded to the class with the best attendance (at least 97 percent) for the week. It is a point of pride for our #AsheChater scholars and they are always excited to see who the winner will be.

The tradition of the golden tennis racquet is inspired by the school’s namesake, Arthur Ashe. Not only was Ashe a world-class athlete and champion, he was the embodiment of good sportsmanship and class. Ashe showed tenacity, humility and graciousness when competing. These are some of the qualities we strive to instill in our scholars every day. Traditions, like the golden tennis racquet, allow us to show respect for those who inspire us, as we set out to inspire others.

Clark Prep at the Loyola Wolf Pack Invite

The Clark Prep's JV Cross country team had a good start to the season at Saturday’s Loyola Wolf Pack Invite.  

In the men’s 3K, Shawn Bangham took 4^th place with a time of 12:36, James Scott took 7^th place with a time of 12:49, and James Prince took 23^rd with a time of 15:32. 

In the women’s 3K, Helen Williams took 14^th place with a time of 17:31 and Delia Madison took 15^th place with a time of 17:32. 

A total of five schools competed in the JV division. It was the 6^th annual Wolf Pack Invite and was hosted at Lafreniere Park in Metairie. A big shout out to our Clark Prep Cross Country team!

Clark Prep Boy's Basketball wins District Championship!

Clark Prep Boy's Basketball team wins District 10-3A Championship, their first district championship since 1986. The team finished the season 17 and 12 and will be heading to the regional round next week to face-off against the winner of No. 16 Union Parish and No. 17 North Websters.

A big congrats to coach Marcell Fisher and all the guys on the team! We wish you the best of luck in your upcoming games.

To help support the Clark Prep basketball team, along with other Clark Prep enrichment programs, come to the 2nd Annual Treme Day 5K Run/Walk and Health & Wellness Fest. All proceeds from race registration will go directly to Clark Prep's Athletic and Enrichment programs. The event is Saturday March 29th at 9AM.
